Photos can be a great source of inspiration in the studio. However, they do have their limitations. Learn tips and tricks to evaluate your photo reference to glean all the important information needed to create a painting full of color and light.
For this month’s workshop, I will be demonstrating my process to create a large finished oil painting. Project 2 will be creating a small “study” to work out the design basics to prepare for the larger canvas.
Use whichever medium you are comfortable with (if you do not have oil paints, acrylic would be a great choice to follow along). I will be using a small canvas panel (approx 6”x8”), my water mixable oil paints and hog hair bristle brushes.
